Hot tub seating coming to Fraser street

By DH Vancouver Staff, DH Vancouver Staff, DH Vancouver Staff Aug 24, 2012 10:03 am

First there was the mini park aka parklet on Robson Street, then there were the giant pillows on Robson Square and now hot tubs are coming to Vancouver. However, these hot tub seats won’t be coming downtown, nor will they be going in the usual neighbourhood’s to receive the city’s attention. They’ll be installed in the up and coming South Hill neighbourhood. These are part of the VIVA Vancouver program and hopefully remain permanent, like Parallel Park on Main and 14th.

South Hill, located in South Central Vancouver is one of the most diverse communities in the city and it’s on the cusp of transition, something we mentioned in our article “Is Fraser the new Main Street?” It’s also home to Vancouver’s most colourful alleyway.

It’s great to see the south side of the city get some love from City Hall.
