Vancouver’s HootSuite has created an incredibly well-animated advertisement that parodies HBO’s famous Game of Thrones opening sequence.

The fantasy show’s Seven Kingdoms are reimagined as the world’s seven largest social media networks.

“Just like at the start of the show, geometric buildings emerge section by section from a flat plane as you fly over them from above,” said Evan LePage, HooteSuite’s Social Content Writer. “Each of the kingdoms has characteristics and features unique to the social network they represent, from Google’s YouTube coliseum to the big job market of LinkedIn.”

In the animation, massive mechanical fortress walls are seen rising around Facebook with Instagram and Whatsapp ‘villages’ located just outside of the compound. Google is on its own mountain, with YouTube as a Coliseum and Google+ as an outpost, while chirping blue coloured birds are seen flying around the the ‘tower island’ of Twitter.

In the final moments of the animation sequence, a large owl from HootSuite’s logo appears as the ‘centre of the kingdom’ with bridges linking to all of the world’s social media giants.

HootSuite is of course the world’s most popular social media management tool, providing social media users with an efficient and seamless way to manage their brands on multiple channels.

Many of the largest organizations and corporations in the world are known to use HootSuite, including Barack Obama’s White House administration, Tiffany & Co., Gap, Hewlett Packard, eBay, Porsche, Panasonic, H&M, and many more.

The fourth season of Game of Thrones premieres this Sunday, April 6 on HBO.
