More than 96,000 homes are without power in Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley thanks to a powerful wind storm that’s blasting the city.

The outages are largely concentrated in Surrey, Langley, and Abbotsford, according to BC Hydro maps.

BC Hydro says they’re working hard to restore power and warn people to remain vigilant while in the midst of the storm.

Environment Canada issued a wind warning Wednesday night that says up to 90 kilometre per hour gusts will hit Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley throughout Thursday.

Golden Ears Provincial Park is closed until further notice.
