Highway 3 between Hope and Princeton has now reopened after it was closed in both directions due to high avalanche hazard.

Travellers looking to make their way to and from the Lower Mainland this morning via Highway 3 will have to find a different route or simply wait things out, thanks to the heavy snow fall.
The continued snow has resulted in increased avalanche hazard on the highway between Hope and Princeton and as a result, officials have closed the highway in both directions to assess the conditions and risk.
According to DriveBC, there is no estimated time of reopening, although a further update is expected around 10 am.

A snowfall warning was issued for both Highway 3 and the Coquihalla yesterday and travel is not recommended today either, unless absolutely necessary.
