The most highly anticipated Vancouver restaurant openings of fall
The time has come for fall to start and summer to end, and while we definitely aren’t going to be stoked about the colder weather, we are pumped to get into some new eateries in Vancouver.
The city has some seriously drool-worthy establishments set to open their doors this fall. Here are the most highly anticipated openings of Fall 2018.

Seorae Korean BBQ
Seorae, a highly-anticipated Korean BBQ spot, has FINALLY revealed their opening date after months of anticipation. The Richmond location (their first North American restaurant) will be opening on September 10.

Sing Sing
Something exciting is coming from the same folks that brought you Back and Forth Bar, and it’s set to open in Vancouver this fall. A new concept called Sing Sing is taking over 2817 Main Street, the former location of Kiso Island Sushi Restaurant.

Toptable Steakhouse
Replacing the now-shuttered Milestones Bar & Grill at 1109 Hamilton Street, the farm-to-table steakhouse has been under construction for several months but plans to open its doors in Fall 2018.

Ugly Dumpling
There’s something brand new in the works for the soon-to-be-shuttered Merchant’s Workshop space, and it sounds like it’s going to be dope. Ugly Dumpling, a new concept from owner Chef Darren Gee (Le Crocodile, Farmers Apprentice, Kinome), is taking over the 1590 Commercial Drive spot and it will open as soon as September.

Jam Cafe – Kitsilano
The new 2,200-sq-ft, 60-65 seat location will be replacing the soon-to-be-shuttered Bistro Pastis at 2153 West 4th Avenue. Patrons can expect the same charming vintage interior, relaxed vibe, outrageously drool-worthy eats, and hours (daily from 8 am to 3 pm) when it tentatively opens the first week of November.

Don Francesco Ristorante
Francesco’s Ristorante, formally Don Francesco’s Ristorante, quietly shuttered in 2017 to the dismay of patrons across the city. Francesco’s is officially gearing up to reopen at 909 Cordova Street, the former location of Hapa Izakaya Coal Harbour.

Jammer Cafe Motors
Jammer Cafe Motors is slated to open at 350 West 8 Avenue in the fall, and it’s going to be more than just a motor-themed spot to grab a hot cup of Joe.

Hot Star Large Fried Chicken Vancouver
The Hot Star Canada team told Daily Hive that the first ever Vancouver outpost, which was originally scheduled to open this summer, has been postponed to late fall due to “permit and renovation issues.”
Tacofino – Mount Pleasant
One of Vancouver’s favourite purveyors of tacos and burritos is gearing up to open their fifth location, and soon at that. Tacofino will be opening a new spot in Mount Plesant at the corner of Ontario Street and East 5th Avenue this fall.

Heritage Asian Eatery – Mount Pleasant
The 2,300-sq-ft space will feature a similar menu to the OG Heritage Asain Eatery on Pender Street along with 40 seats for hungry patrons. The new location will also be licensed.

While no exact address has been revealed, the purveyor of all things fresh and healthy eats did let us know they are aiming to have the new location open in the fall.

Sweet Jesus – Metrotown
While it was initially slated to open mid-summer, Metrotown staff have confirmed to Daily Hive that this uber-trendy sweet spot out of Toronto will now open in the fall.
