These 4 hidden gem restaurants are LITERALLY hidden from sight

Vancouver is home to so many top-tier restaurants serving up the finest West Coast and globally-inspired cuisine.

With new eateries regularly opening in the city, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to dining out. And while you can always check the new spots off your list, there remain a couple of hidden gems you never knew existed.

These spots are off the beaten track, out of sight, and it’s almost like a secret mission to find them. You don’t need a password to get in, but when you arrive you’ll know exactly why they’re located in such places.

Since great food helps connect you with your city and allows you to feel the happiness that locally-made cuisine brings about, we’ve teamed up with the city car that does the same thing, the Chevrolet Spark. Here are four hidden gem restaurants that are literally out of sight in Vancouver.

Tucked away in the historic heart of Chinatown, you really have to search for The Emerald — and that’s one of the best things about this spot. After you walk up a dimly-lit stairway you’ll enter the cozy space that’s a mix of old-school Vegas glamour and chic urban design. Order some moreish canapes or a pasta dish and delight in the fact that you’ve found your new favourite place. FYI, it’s open until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Narrow Lounge

If you need to use Google Maps to find The Narrow Lounge, we won’t judge. It’s worth the journey. As soon as you order some food and settle in, you’ll realize why this is such an incredibly unique place with its modern gothic-inspired interior and low lighting. The flatbreads on the menu are a must-try — and the happy hour truffle popcorn, too!

Address: Main Street and 3rd Avenue, Vancouver

Ever heard of Monarch Burger? We didn’t think so. This absolute gem is located inside The American on Main Street and it’s one of the city’s best-kept secrets. Stop by and try one of their mega burgers and fries. This is comfort food at its best and it’s pretty much perfect for fall/winter.

Nestled in the lower layers of Yaletown, you enter Hello Goodbye through an unmarked door before walking down a flight of red stairs. This place is known for its divine dumplings, pork buns, and Maltesers (yes, you read that right!). It’s open Thursday through Sunday so make sure you reserve a table before you go.

The best part of dining in your city is the chance to connect with new people and experiences. So it makes sense to have a fuel-efficient city car that helps you stay connected and get from one location to another. The Chevrolet Spark does this by giving you all the tech you need on the go.

This includes advanced phone integration such as Apple CarPlay, MyLink with a 7” capacitive touch screen available 4G LTE WiFi, a rearview camera, and 10 airbags.

If you choose the automatic transmission, you’ll save money on gas as it offers a highway fuel consumption rating of just 6.2 L/100 km.

Find out how the fuel-efficient car could work for your lifestyle here.
