This Sunday, one of the best seats in the house will be front and centre at the 2014 NHL Heritage Classic featuring our hometown Canucks versus the Ottawa Senators. There will be 55,000 hockey enthusiasts gathered at BC Place but for those who are wanting to get in the spirit ahead of time and beyond the game, there are a few fun activations you’ll want to check out.
Friday, February 28 – Robson Square @ 11:00 a.m.
400 hockey sticks will be given away jovial Canadian Tire staff. Be sure to stop by and score a stick for yourself.
Saturday, March 1 – Canadian Tire store on Cambie (2290 Cambie St) @ 11:30 a.m.
Canadian Tire will be hosting an NHL alumni meet-and-greet in store starting at 11:30 a.m. Fans can expect to rub elbows with alumni including Trevor Linden, Cliff Ronning and Geoff Courntall. Additionally, there will be giveaways and prize including Canadian Tire gift cards and Mastercraft giveaways…and you guessed it: Heritage Classic tickets.
Sunday, March 2 – Plaza of Nations (750 Pacific Blvd) @ 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
On game day before the puck drops, the parking lot outside the Plaza of Nations will transform into the 2014 Canadian Tire NHL Spectator Plaza. Festivities that highlight the event include: autograph opportunities and a live question and answer session with 1994 Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Final team members Kirk McLean and Cliff Ronning; interactive hockey-themed attractions; a wide selection of officially licensed merchandise and collectibles; a chance to win tickets to 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic game; and much more.
