Simply monitor your run or ride activities throughout the region by using your GPS Device. Strava has developed a service known as Global Heatmap.

Strava, a community of west coast athletes along with their counterparts all over the world have developed a system to track, and monitor temporal activity.  The group has developed a product specializing in an experience called social fitness.

“Strava provides motivation and camaraderie, and helps us prove that we’re out there doing what we love to do.”  – Strava

Conforming to the essential principles of Gamification, Strava allows the user to track rides and runs via a smart device.  Users are able to analyze and quantify their performance.  Earning trophies, and badges is an essential feature of the app service.  The heatmap service is used to encourage people to share their activity logs and goals with their friends.
