The BC SPCA is offering 50% off animal adoptions on Saturday

On Saturday, the BC SPCA is offering 50% off adoptions and pet registry fees in a bid to help the animals in its care find happy homes.

Consider it all the love at half the price.

The one-day, province-wide event is happening at all BC branches, and applies to dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, rabbits and other small animals. Some large farm animals too, if that’s your thing.

Even though the organization is discounting fees for 24-hours, its standard matching and adoption requirements still apply.

Our top priority is to ensure that every animal finds their perfect people,” said Mark Takhar, its chief operations officer.

He says that not only will the event help get dozens of animals placed into safe and happy homes, it will also allow the non-profit agency to help other vulnerable animals.

“When one animal finds their forever home, it gives us the opportunity to assist other animals who might be in need of care. We want to make sure no animal is left behind,” says Takhar.

Last year, the BC SPCA rehomed more than 15,000 domestic and farm animals.

Here’s a look at some of the current adoptable dogs in Lower Mainland branches.
