With Vancouver weather in prime condition and the May long weekend just moments away, plenty of Vancouverites will be making the drive up to Whistler.

If you’re still on the fence about a weekend getaway or just needed more incentive, the Whistler GO Fest should steer you in the right path.

GO Fest, Whistler’s annual ‘great outdoors’ festival is making its yearly return from Friday, May 18 to Monday, May 21.

The fifth annual festival, an initiative by the Resort Municipality of Whistler, is a celebration of both winter and summer activities.

Events and activities include outdoor clinics for things like stand-up paddle boarding, sailing, yoga, cycling, and tiger ping pong, to name a few.

Another highlight includes specially priced, self-guided tours for Whistler’s River of Golden Dreams. The two to three-hour ride immerses riders in Whistler wetlands and greenery on a river that connects Alta Lake and Green Lake.

There will also be a wide range of events hosted throughout the upper and lower village for summer and winter activities, as well as photography, art, and entertainment.

To top it all off, there will be free, outdoor concerts that take place in the plaza throughout the weekend.
