Ginapalooza Vancouver: Get gin-spired this June

Jun 14 2016, 3:18 am

Ginapalooza is back for the second time in Vancouver from June 15 to 29, 2016. This uniquely Canadian, multi-city gin festival first launched in Toronto, then in Montreal and Calgary, and now moves westward to celebrate in our city.

For two weeks, locals and tourists alike have the opportunity to navigate our streets satisfying their palates with more than 40 signature #GinapaloozaVAN cocktails.

In its second year here in Vancouver, Ginapalooza has taken 14 of Vancouver’s top cocktail venues and paired them with 14 of the most incredible local, national and internationally renowned gin brands to create some of the greatest gin cocktails consumers will ever taste.

Simply pick up a complimentary G-PASS at any of the participating venues starting on Wendesday, June 15, 2016 and follow the G-PATH for an experience that’s truly ginspirational! (Full instructions are online here: HOW-TO-PALOOZA.)

Here’s a little insider tip: If you are looking to purchase any of the partnered gins featured in this year’s gin festival, visit Legacy Liquor Store in the Olympic Village and receive 5 per cent off your purchase.

There will be ongoing prize giveaways, including a nationally held contest to win the Grand Prize: a trip for two to the birthplace of gin – London, England – for a private Tour of Beefeater’s Distillery.

Other ways to meet, mingle, and toast to gin for Vancouverites are to indulge in Ginaplooza’s signature Gin Sip & Socialize pop-up tastings; bid on single-edition artwork by Canadian artist Pierre-Paul Pariseau to raise funds support of our Albertan neighbours affected by the wildfires; and vote for your favourite #GinaploozaVAN bartender to support their chances of winning the position of representing Vancouver, BC as Canada’s best Ginapalooza bartender.

Here’s a sneak peak of the participating venues and what they have in store for you. Some of the venues have expanded Ginapalooza menus, too, with multiple drinks available.
