Find out if freezing your eggs is the right decision for you

Canadian Infertility Awareness Week is ending, but that doesn’t mean you should stop thinking about freezing your eggs.

Fortunately, Genesis Fertility Centre is explaining the subject matter at their two upcoming events: The Open House for Fertility and Egg Freezing: Is it for me?

Fertility issues are more relevant today than ever before, now that many women and couples are starting families later in life. New technologies are making it possible for women to have children when they choose, without jeopardizing their health or limiting their options.

Event: Open House for Fertility

Join Genesis Fertility on Wednesday, May 17 for their Open House for Fertility to learn about infertility options and discover the latest in fertility treatments and technologies. Get to know the Genesis team, learn more about the services they provide, and mingle with others who are also on an infertility journey, or thinking of starting one.
If you are just in the beginning stages of learning about infertility, this is a great opportunity for you to ask questions and network with a community of people who can stand alongside you through your journey or talk to you about their firsthand experiences with infertility.

Event: Egg Freezing: Is it for me?

Already know your options and want to know the next steps?

Genesis Fertility Centre is also hosting an egg freezing event on Wednesday, May 31. This information session by Genesis’ Medical Director Dr. Sonya Kashyap will cover the medical and practical aspects of freezing eggs and provide an opportunity for attendees to ask individual questions. Learn about the benefits of freezing, how the process works and who makes a good candidate. Learn why Dr. Kashyap believes there is still a “Fertility Gender Gap” and that professional women face choices that professional men do not.

Attendees will also get a chance to speak with Dr. Aimee Eyvazzadeh, the renowned Egg Whisperer and originator of “Egg Freezing Parties”, who will be joining in via video chat from California.

With the average age of a woman’s first pregnancy in BC recently surpassing 31 years old, egg freezing is a viable option for reproductive or family planning. Egg freezing enables more freedom for women by providing the best chance of having a family when ready – whether that’s upon completion of education, reaching a certain career stage, or finding the right partner.

Both events are free to attend and all are welcome, however space is limited and reservations are required. Please e-mail [email protected] or call 604-879-3032 to RSVP.
