Free wine! Free wine!
Now that we’ve got your attention, we can assure you this isn’t a drill. Marquis Wine Cellars is hosting a free wine tasting event on Friday, October 7, showcasing the red and white wines from Les Dames D’Escoffier.
On hand for the pouring will be the wines’ creator, Mireille Sauvé, director of the Wine Umbrella and member of the BC Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier. She will be discussing the wines, as well as the new rose she is currently fermenting.
If tasting the wine gets you in the shopping mood, in addition to the Les Dames wines, you can pick up a copy of fellow Dame Jennifer Schell‘s latest cookbook, The Butcher, The Baker, The Wine and Cheese Maker – By The Sea. Heck, with the holidays coming, why not pick up a couple for gifts? $10 from each sale during the wine tasting event will go to Les Dames d’Escoffier’s scholarship funds.
Les Dames d’Escoffier is an organization for professional women in the food, beverage, and hospitality fields. They support the community by promoting knowledge in and awareness of those and related fields, as well as to foster education and improvement for women involved in those fields.
Made in the Okanagan, Les Dames wines are a fundraising initiative; sales of the limited run wines go towards supporting Les Dames and their scholarships.
When: Friday, October 7 from 5 to 6:30 pm
Where: Marquis Wine Cellars, 1034 Davie Street, Vancouver
