Whistler announces free outdoor music festival coming next month

GO Fest, Whistler’s annual ‘great outdoors’ festival, has recently announced that they’ll be hosting a free outdoor concert series over the May long weekend.

The shows begin on Friday, May 18 and continue with two more days of free, live acts up until Sunday, May 20.

Starting the weekend will be Juno-winning artists, the Philosopher Kings, a Canadian pop and alternative rock group. Saturday will feature Carmanah, known for their West Coast soul sound, and Current Swell later in the evening.

Coco Jafro, known for their funk fusion and musical rhythms will start the show on Sunday followed by electronic music duo, the Funk Hunters.

All concerts will take place on the main stage in the Village Square.

The fifth annual GO Fest, an initiative by the Resort Municipality of Whistler, is a celebration of both winter and summer activities. Visitors and residents alike are invited to experience the thrills of winter skiing and snowboarding, as well as summer pass-times like fishing, tennis, golfing, and sailing.

In addition to music and sports, the festival will also feature an all British car show, a mini-skate ramp, and outdoor ping pong tables.
