Fraser Valley Food Show 2012

If you thought the Fraser Valley Food Show was too far of a drive to experience food, think again! This year on Sept 14-16, the Fraser Valley Food Show opens for three days. Spice Goddess Bal Arneson headlines the Food Network Celebrity Stage. Arneson’s award-nominated show, Spice Goddess, airs its second season on Food Network Canada next month. In addition to putting out two bestselling cookbooks, Arneson has also judged Iron Chef: America and the upcoming Shaw show, Cooking with Fire.

Sunday, September 16th, 2012 2 — 10 AM – 5 PM

Admission Rates:
General Admission – $9 (including HST)
Youth (13-16) – $5
Children (under 12) — FREE
Seniors (65+) $7 (including HST)

To spice things up even more, the show welcomes to the stage Real Housewives of Vancouver star Reiko Mackenzie, who will talk about harvest season in the Fraser Valley, where much of our local food comes from. Mackenzie is a cooking enthusiast and a strong advocate of local and sustainable food.

Cynthia Lucas of View Design will present demonstrations on beautifying your kitchen or dining space, create an entertaining lounge, and welcome design questions from attendees.

The Fraser Valley Food Show hosts two nail-biting competitions: The 9th annual CityTV Master Chef Competition, and the Great Canadian Sausage Making Competition, where winners in three different categories compete to win a nice $500 prize.

For a sweet admission price of $7 online, guests can also enjoy the Wine, Beer & Spirits Tasting Pavilion (hello!), Grapes & Hops Presentation StageBite of the Valley Pavilion – featuring four Valley restaurants serving dishes at no more than $4 each – and cheese seminars by the Dairy Farmers of Canada.
