If you didn’t make it to EAT! Vancouver last June, you missed out. But, you can keep the summer eating going well into September at the EAT! Fraser Valley Food + Cooking Festival on September 16-18 at the TRADEX Trade & Exhibition Centre in Abbotsford. Wondering what to expect when you get there? Well, all things food, of course.
On top of over 100 food-related exhibitors (many of whom have samples!), indulge in signature dishes by some of the Fraser Valley’s own restaurants, including The Baron Bar & Grill, Fresh Restaurant at the Sheraton Guildford, Milestone’s Taste of Africa, and Wok Box. At $4 a dish or under, sampling from these restaurateurs is a steal. If cooking and celebrity chefs is more your thing, check out the Food Network Celebrity Stage where Chef Rob Feenie, Graham Kerr, and Montreal’s Chuck Hughes from Food Network Canada’s Chuck’s Day Off will take their culinary skills from the television to the masses.
What makes food taste even better? A drink! Head to the Wine, Beer, & Spirits Pavilion & chill with a glass of Pinot Noir or IPA, or if you really want to go home ec-style, sit in on seminars at the Grapes & Hops Presentation Stage or Dairy Farmers of Canada Cheese Seminars. And, for some Iron Chef action, watch aspiring chefs sweat it out (not on the food, of course) at the CityTV Master Chef Competition, hosted by the BC Chefs Association. The festival runs Friday to Sunday, September 16-18.
