American heritage brand Filson opened its Vancouver store in April and carries goods for those who love to venture into the great outdoors.

Founded in Seattle in 1897 by C.C. Filson, the company began with outfitting prospectors who were flocking north for the Klondike Gold Rush.

The outdoor retailer is staying true to its roots and offers classic pieces that withstand the test of time.

Filson isn’t in the business of skinny jeans, nor does it want to be. Instead, it focuses on providing unfailing quality goods, all of which are guaranteed for life.

“We embrace who we are and we don’t run away from it. There are people who think if we did trim fit or did more product for the urban consumer, we’d sell more. But that’s not how we roll,” Alex Carleton, the Creative Director of Filson, told Daily Hive.
