Saturday, June 14, 2014 marks the fifth annual Vancouver Draw Down. The annual daylong event has scheduled over 40 free drawing workshops around Vancouver that are designed and led by professional artists.

The Vancouver Draw Down will be held at the Arts Club Theatre, Vancouver Art Gallery, Contemporary Art Gallery, the Vancouver Public Library and every City of Vancouver community centre. A list of workshop schedules and locations can be found on the Vancouver Draw Down website.

All workshops are free and will include mural drawing, costume illustration, still life technics, comic jamming, and blindfolded drawing. The event is designed to challenge Vancouverites of all ages and skill to change their perspective and preconceptions about drawing.

The launch party will start at the Vancouver Public Library outdoor plaza at 11 a.m., but if you want to get your creative bug stirring ahead of the daylong event, you can participate in the Online Daily Drawing Challenge available through the Vancouver Draw Down’s Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
