One man is dead after an overnight collision in Langley on Thursday.

The collision took place in the 7700 block of 200th Street, when a southbound Ford Escort, carrying a driver and one passenger, veered into the oncoming lane and collided with a Mazda 3, driven by a 30-year-old Langley woman.

The passenger in the Ford Escort – a 24-year-old Langley man – died at the scene.

The two drivers were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, and investigator will apply for blood samples from the Escort driver – a 28-year-old man from Langley as well.

Attempts to complete the next of kin notification for the deceased man “have not yet been successful and additional efforts will be made throughout the day by investigators and Langley Victim and Client Support Services,” said Langley RCMP.
