Watch some of BC’s best chefs in action at the Growing Chefs! annual harvest kitchen party, From Farms to Forks, on Sunday, October 1.

Guests will adventure through Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts’ classroom kitchens and enjoy tasting plates prepared by more than fifteen local chefs from restaurants such as West, Tableau Bar Bistro, Burdock and Co., pilgrimme, Provence Marinaside, and The Arbor.

Each chef is paired with a local BC grower or producer to create a dish that highlights the best the province has to offer. This celebration of BC’s bounty also features wine pairings from Mission Hill Family Estate, beers from Moody Ales, and a cocktail prepared by Forage bartender, Jonathan Dennis.

The evening is hosted by CBC Radio, The Province, and Vancouver Courier’s Fred Lee and CBC Radio’s Margaret Gallagher. Limited tickets are available for this intimate event. Guests interested in foraging, canning and preserves, eating seasonally, or pairing flavour profiles will have front row access to the chef experts as they visit their kitchens.

“For the eighth year in a row, this night serves as a fundraiser and celebration of this incredible culinary community” says Executive Director Helen Stortini. “We invite our guests to connect up close and personally with chefs, growers, producers, and the staff and volunteers who make our programming possible.”

Growing Chefs! is a registered charity based in Vancouver, BC that sends teams of chef volunteers into elementary schools – where they teach children how to grow and cook their own vegetables and get the kids excited about eating healthy food.
