Fall has officially arrived and the cloudy skies are a good reminder that we should be revamping our beauty routine for the fall season. Here’s a quick round up some of our favourite picks at both save and splurge price points. You’ll be able to find most of these at your local London Drugs.
Sun Screen: Beautiful skin never goes out of season, so this is a good reminder that even when the sun isn’t shining on the daily SPF is still needed to prevent sun damage. We like the Ombrelle Face Ultra Fluid SPF 60 that absorbs super quick, meaning no drying time needed before you apply your base make up. This La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Fluid lotion SPF 60 one also finishes silky soft with a nice scent we couldn’t resist.
CC Cream: The newest rage in skin products is CC cream – or colour correction cream for that Barely There trend. It is a base and primer that ‘corrects’ the skin by reducing redness and the appearance of pores while whitening and brightening. If you’re going for a minimal day look, CC cream may be all you need for skin prep. But you can just as easily apply bronzers, blushes or highlights for added dimension. Annabelle makes a great CC cream – and their luminous finish adds just a hint of shimmer. If you’re looking for something more top shelf, try the one by Chanel.
The Lip: For fall, statement lip is still a mainstay and this season it’s all berry. We like the Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivids. Amazingly precise colour – what you swatch is what you get – great pigmentation and a nice creamy finish. I’m wearing Hot Plum this season. If you’re looking a splurge option, try the Rouge Dior line in Trafalgar.
The Sophisticated Eye: The LBD of eyes is the eyeliner and it’s a staple we see again this fall. The liner is being extended again – sometimes bold and thick, other times tapered and angled for a cat eye look. We like the Cargo Texas Liquid Eyeliner that gives you great control and thickness for a perfect eye in one stroke. We also like this Lancome Artliner that has a uniquely shaped foam tip that lets you line, shape and define eyes to create any look you like.
