From November 2-8, 2017, Canada welcomes the world as Vancouver hosts ISCM World New Music Days 2017.
Since its founding in 1922, the International Society for Contemporary Music has been the world’s premier network for new music. Each year, its festival is hosted in a different city around the globe.
From marquee concerts featuring The National Arts Centre Orchestra and The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, to musical adaptations of the literary works of Hemingway and Alice Munro, to expectation-defying and immersive avant-garde works that can—and in one case literally will—hypnotize audiences, this is a once in a generation opportunity for music fans and the culturally curious alike.
30+ new music events, over 135 composers from around the world and music from 50 countries. New ideas. New collaborations. New fusions. ISCM2017 will provoke, excite, and engage audiences and musicians long after it’s over.
