Jarrod Tyler’s music has been featured on the ABC and FOX networks. The buzz around the band is Tyler’s songwriting—it is a piano based alternative to the current mainstream and focuses primarily on melody, songwriting craft and blowing the roof off with their live shows.
The JTB has released 3 albums on iTunes and has worked closely with producer Rhys Moody of Eastwest Studios Hollywood on the 3.
Most recently they released a music video for the song ‘Audrey’ which will be included on a 7 song EP slated for release in the spring.
Last year Tyler wrote and directed a feature length documentary that tells the story of the crumbling music scene in his home town of Vancouver and the struggles indie bands face in the digital age. Though the documentary wasn’t received well in Vancouver, it was showcased on various cable stations in the USA and has garnered views in online formats. In regard to the documentary Tyler was quoted, “I think the film got me blacklisted in my home town, but you know—we didn’t intend for it to offend anyone; we simply turned on the cameras and captured the craziness that was going around us at the time.”
The band has been booked at many notable venues including Dante’s (Portland), Analog Café (Portland), Substation (Seattle), TOST lounge (Seattle), Blue Moon (Seattle), The Mint (Los Angeles), Silverlake Lounge (Los Angeles), Amplifi (Los Angeles), The Kibitz Room (Los Angeles), TRIP (Santa Monica), The Glendon (Los Angeles), Cobalt Café (Canoga Park), The Roxy, The Railway Club (Vancouver), The Media Club (Vancouver), The Cellar (Vancouver) The Backstage Lounge (Vancouver), Joes Apartment (Vancouver), Studio Records (Vancouver). Tyler continues to write melodic songs and he and his band bring to their refined live performance an edge of spontaneity—they continue to seek out intriguing venues and the music lovers who keep original music alive.
