The Statistics (Prince George) // https://www.thestatistics.org/
The Statistics are a pair of brothers from Prince George, BC who play Alternative Rock. Comprised of Darby and Erin Yule, the Statistics have already achieved considerable feats: being nominated "Best Out of Province Act" at Toronto Indie Music Awards, working with Cone McCaslin (Sum 41); selling out hot spots such as The Media Club, Blackbird Cafe, The Cellar, and The Railway Club; playing Canadian Music Week, Crankworx Whistler, headlining Kispiox Music Festival with Cardboard Crowns, and headlining UBC Goosehunt Festival. Their latest release is ‘Haunts” a six-song EP produced by Paul Boechler and recorded at FaderMountain Studios in Vancouver, which showcases the jangly punk edge of their past, but easily slips in some Brit-pop threads; built with analogue warmth around it all. With a highly interactive live show, The Statistics often generate more energy on stage than bands twice their size. “We were told that we were going to become statistics of the music industry, so that’s what we decided to call ourselves.” says frontman Darby Yule.
LANE (Vancouver) //
In life, you can’t coach hustle. It’s a motto Lane Fellardeau lives by. In 1992, at the age of eight, Lane lost his mother to breast cancer. With no direct family, opportunities or support, Lane and his father emigrated from Stockholm, Sweden to Vancouver, Canada. In the process, Lane learned that nothing comes for free. Whatever you get, you earn. A year later, Lane discovered rap music in the passenger seat of his cousin’s Acura Integra. The experience would indelibly alter Lane’s young life.
But the story doesn’t end there. In fact, it goes in a much different direction. With an unparalleled work ethic and a voracious drive for success, Lane adjusted to North American life through the game of baseball. But unlike most kids, Lane didn’t play for fun. He played to win. In many ways, it mirrored his approach to life. Eleven years later, Lane stood as one of the most sought-after prospects in Canadian baseball. A major league contract appeared inevitable. But life never works out like you plan.
Two weeks before the 2005 Major League Baseball draft, Lane tore his rotator cuff. With a single throw, his years of work and big league dreams were gone forever. But hustle doesn’t quit. Lane quickly learned that you can’t replace something with nothing. And with that, he turned his attention to music. Like everything else in his life, Lane went all in. Bringing his on-field swagger to the mic, Lane’s aggressive style and slick melodies evoke memories of late nights, fast times and summer love. Already a staple of Vancouver’s budding rap scene, Lane’s do-it-yourself attitude and aggressive networking have quickly attracted attention on both sides of the 49th parallel. Once again, he’s living life in the fast lane.

He is an outlier in a contemporary category and owns his unique sound from a past that has dark days and bright beaming lights. Exploding from Bboy culture into a multi genre artist, his voice and name is one that will be heard and remembered for generations to come.
