Vancouver’s Latin American Week takes place from June 27 to July 8 and there are plenty of events taking place that celebrate Latin culture, arts, and community.
From a film night to Carnival del Sol, here are seven events around Vancouver worth checking out during Latin American week.

Latincouver’s 10 Years Gala
Latincouver and Carnaval del Sol are celebrating 10 years of hosting events and the vibrant and diverse Latin communities in Vancouver. The gala will be open to friends who have supported and worked side by side with the Latin community in Vancouver. The event features performances by Lamondance, Stolen Moment Hazz, Mara Coelho, Danza Folkorica Ollin Yoliztli, and the Marimba kids. Please note, limited seats are available. A formal dress code is also in place.

Fiesta Blanca Salsa Cruise
Kick off summer and Latin American week with the unforgettable three-floor-level Fiesta Blanca Salsa Cruise. Dress to the nines while cruising and dancing to vibrant Latin beats on the MV Britannia ship. A white dress code is in place.

Free Canada Day Parade on Granville Island
Latincouver proudly celebrates Canada’s birthday with the Latin communities in BC. Come out and participate in the Canada Day Parade with Latin music, dances, and traditional costumes.

Latin Film Night with VIFF
Latincouver, in partnership with the Vancouver International Film Festival, the Consulate General of Mexico in Vancouver, and the Consulate General of Brazil in Vancouver, presents Latin American Film Night, a celebration of the Latin American film industry. Enjoy the evening with two films that celebrate Latin filmmaking. Films will have subtitles in English.

Women’s Voices in the Americas
“Women’s Voices in the Americas” is a filmmakers panel that provides a different, intercultural perspective of the Americas told using women’s voices. This event uses works created by women as a starting point for dialogue and incorporates unique historical views showcasing cultures in the Americas from the point of view of women.

Flamenco, Tango, Wine in One Night
The sights, sounds, and sips of Latin America come to Vancouver for one night only with Flamenco, Tango and Wine in One Night. Join in on a celebration of Argentinian wine and award-winning entertainment presented by Latincouver in collaboration with Flamenco Rosario. The event was sold out in 2017.

10th annual Carnaval del Sol
The biggest Latin American festival in the Pacific Northwest returns to Vancouver this July. Taking place from July 7 to 8, the 10th annual Carnaval Del Sol is a two-day celebration of Latin American Culture.
The event features live music, art, dance, sports, poetry, and food. Over 400 artists from different Latin American countries will attend the festival as well this year.
