Your essential guide to the 2018 TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival

British Columbia’s largest music and arts event, the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival will be making its annual return to the city starting this weekend.

Running from Friday, June 22 to Sunday, July 1, the festival, in its 33rd instalment, offers hundreds of musicians taking part in 300 concerts at 35 indoor and outdoor venues.

One of the most attractive features of the festival? A whopping total of 150 free concerts that showcase local, Canadian, and international artists, all spread through venues across Vancouver. Whether you’re looking for drummers, indie bands, or female artists, the festival has something for everyone.

This year’s list of venues for performances include Frankie’s Jazz Club, the Vancouver Art Gallery and Robson Square, St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church, Granville Island, and several venues on the North Shore.

Events like nightly jam sessions held at Frankie’s Jazz Club, an outdoor jazz concert being held at the Vancouver Art Gallery, free concerts at David Lam Park, and day-long concerts during Canada Day on Granville Island look to offer spectators a variety of ways to enjoy the festival.
