DH Vancouver Staff May 27, 2016 7:45 am

Two elderly women are recovering after they were assaulted on separate occasions Thursday afternoon in the West Broadway area of Vancouver.

In the first assault, an 84-year-old woman was sitting on her walker waiting for her ride at West Broadway and Ash Street at around noon. A man approached her, kicked her off her seat, and walked away. Her elbow broke and she was taken to hospital.

The second assault happened two hours later at Broadway and Granville Street. A wheelchair-bound 70-year-old woman was out for a walk with her daughter when a man punched her in the face and walked away. Her injuries were minor.

Police believe it was the same man in both attacks. He’s described as 5’10”, white, in his 20s with a medium build and a full beard. He was wearing a dark navy top, navy baseball hat, and white shoes.

Anyone who spots this man is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department.
