Video footage was released of a suspect walking down Nanaimo Street and putting his hand into a hedge behind a residence.

As soon as the suspect walks away, the hedge is swallowed in flames.

Acoose remains in custody and the Crown Counsel has approved two charges of “arson to property” against him.

Arson investigators of the VPD are crediting the public for “tips which helped lead to the arrest.”
