Woman assaulted in East Vancouver, VPD caution public

If you’re a woman, take extra caution while walking around East Vancouver – the VPD are warning people to remain vigilant after an assault on Saturday night.

At around 9:30 p.m. on March 11, a 22-year-old woman was walking around East 1st Avenue and Rupert Street when she was assaulted by a man. She had minor injuries on her face and jaw.

The motive for the attack is unclear. Police say they’re looking for a man with medium height and build who was wearing dark clothes.

More information will be provided by the Vancouver Police Department as it comes.
