Earls is launching new dishes and all-day rosé for patio season

May 19 2017, 4:26 am

The weather is warming up and that means you’ll want to cool down on a sunny patio with an ice-cold beverage in hand.

Thankfully, you’re in luck because Earls just launched a wide range of ‘new + notable’ dishes, cocktails, and wine on Wednesday, May 24.

This includes all-day rosé, individually selected by corporate Sommelier, David Stansfield. The ultimate summer drink, rosé, pairs exceptionally well with all of the new dishes listed on the menu. It’s highly recommended by Stansfield as it offers a combination of white wine crushability and red wine complexity, making it perfect for warm weather.

Bartenders from around the world have worked with Earls Beverage Director Cameron Bogue, and the results are wicked summer cocktails laced with flavour you’ll be able to enjoy starting next week.

Earls’ new + notable options are arriving at a time when you’ll want to eat lighter as opposed to heavier, comfort food dishes. This means more hearty salad options and super fresh seafood dishes. Earls is also introducing brunch to many of its locations, too.

Daily Hive has teamed up with Earls to showcase the new menu options.

Brunch

You can check to see if the Earls near you will be serving up brunch during the weekends. This means on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, you’ll be able to indulge in some of the tastiest late-breakfast foodie options. You can order classics like eggs benedict and blueberry French toast plus some unique options.

Chorizo + mushroom hash

It’s packed with spicy chorizo and mushrooms, including two poached eggs, avocado and crisp potatoes served in buttery-smooth hollandaise.

Fried egg sandwich

This is not your average egg sandwich with dried cured bacon, cheddar cheese, a fried egg with savoury caramelized onions, and sriracha mayo to add a kick. It’s served with crispy brunch potatoes on the side.

Filipino breakfast bowl

Have your egg sunny side up on top of garlic fried rice with corn, cabbage, bacon and crispy ginger beef.

Main courses

A vibrant salad perfect for patio season. Beautifully crusted Ahi Tuna, seared to rare, sits on top of a bed of romaine along with cabbage, sunflower sprouts, cucumbers, radish coins, grape tomatoes, red and green onion, mango, and toasted almonds, lightly dressed with Soy-Ginger vinaigrette.

A winning combo, the salmon + sushi includes a perfectly roasted salmon filet served on top of a bed of our crisp vegetable slaw and accompanied by guests’ favourite dynamite roll.

Steak + sushi

Previously available at many locations, the steak + sushi will be available at the remaining locations. A marinated steak surrounded by citrus soy sauce and served with a crunchy dynamite roll, this combination will blow your mind.

Dragon roll

With Ahi Tuna and fresh avocado draped over this rainbow style inside out roll (nori on the inside and rice on the outside), the Dragon Roll features spicy dashi mayonnaise, tamago, cucumber, yams, chives and topped with scaled avocado, garlic rice crisps and tobiko. Also available but not listed on the menu at participating locations, is the vegan-friendly green dragon roll, featuring yam, cucumber, mango, cucumber, spicy dashi mayonnaise, unagi sauce, topped with avocado and nori.

Fried chicken sandwich

Wines

Some of the best new wines picked by Sommelier Stansfield.

La Vieille Ferme Rosé – Côtes de Ventoux, France

The French do rosé best. They just get it. The La Vieille Ferme comes from the south of France, near the Mediterranean, the motherland of great pink wine. It’s delicate and crushable and dry: win, win, win.

Borsao Garnacha Rosado – Campo de Borja, Spain

The Spanish know a thing or two about warm weather drinking. The Borsao Garnacha Rosado, from the stony foothills of the Moncayo mountains in northwest Spain, beats the heat with refreshing acidity and bright red berry flavour.

Bieler Père et Fils Sabine Rosé – Provence, France

This is it: the rosé that made rosé cool. Made by an American in Provence, it’s got everything a good rosé needs, like fresh fruit and crisp acidity without the hangover inducing sugar of White Zin.

Cocktails

Absinthe minded

Created in a collaboration with Toronto bartender, Robin Goodfellow, this gin-based specialty is super sip-worthy featuring the wildly fun spirit absinthe, gin, sherry, vermouth and fresh lime.

Paper plane

Made with bourbon, amaro, Aperol and fresh lime.

Aperol, grapefruit or orange spritz

To Spritz or not to spritz, that is the question. A spritz is a wine-based cocktail known for its inclusion of Prosecco. The Aperol Spritz, in particular, is known to serve as an ice-breaker and also be the symbol of a lively atmosphere. Basically, it’s a party starter.

Spanish gin & tonic

This Spanish gin and tonic is a refreshing twist on a classic highball with craft gin, fentiman’s tonic water and cucumber bitters.

Northern sweet tea

A super shareable punchbowl style drink that’s a peachy, lemon, whiskey, black tea mix that you might not want to share once you try it.

4 for $10 shots

Back by popular demand, 4 for $10 shots! The flavours for these shots are boozey twists on some classic cereals: Apple Jack, Cinnamon Crunch, Fruit Hoops and Coco Poofs.

Old Fashioned Menu

Martinez

A sweeter predecessor to a martini, is a gin-based drink using Genever, Cinzano sweet vermouth, maraschino, and orange bitters.

Hip monkey

A rum-based drink featuring banana liqueur as a sweetener that’s reminiscent of a tropical time in your life.

Oaxacan OG

Pronounced Wa-haw-ka, or you could just point to it on the menu, is named after a state in Southern Mexico. It’s tequila and mezcal-based, sweetened with agave, and green strawberry bitters. This is a smoky version of the Old Fashioned.

Bipartisan

A whiskey drink that is drier than most, has rye, amaro, apricot liqueur, maraschino, and two types of bitters.

Triple threat

It’s the kitchen sink of Old Fashioned cocktails. Made with Johnnie Walker, bourbon and amber rum, this drink is true to its name. This new line up is joining the Earls Old Fashioned in the line-up at select locations.

Cold brew coffee

Coffee drinkers and weekend brunchers rejoice. You can pair your food with a cold brew coffee at Earls and enjoy it with or without shot of Baileys.
