Trick-or-treating is overrated, so shoot pumpkins instead

Instagram photos of PSLs and pumpkin patches are so last year.

If you really want to get some great photos this Halloween, you’ll have to go for something a little more dramatic.

The DVC Indoor Shooting Centre is hosting its fifth annual Pumpkin Shoot on October 29 and 30, and it’s the perfect opportunity for you to add a little more firepower to your social media. At the DVC’s Pumpkin Shoot, you’ll select your perfect pumpkin, then shoot it to bits with the firearm of your choice.

“This is an event that we’re all very excited about,” says Wesley Yen, the manager of DVC. “Nothing gets you in the Halloween spirit quite like blowing up a pumpkin.”

The DVC has a number of different guns you can use to target your pumpkin. Maybe you’ll want to use the demure 9 MM handgun to shoot discreet holes in the side of your pumpkin. Or maybe you’ll want to try the legendary Desert Eagle, which got its fame from shows like The Year of the DragonCommando, and The Matrix. You’ll probably want to take your last few rounds with a shotgun, and blow your pumpkin to smithereens.

The DVC has picked up pumpkins for this event, so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own. Its pumpkins are only $4 and all proceeds from the sale of these pumpkins will go to BCSPCA to help local animals in need.

So what are you waiting for? Head down to DVC to grab a pumpkin and shotgun to enjoy a little Halloween shooting for a good cause.
