The setup for what is arguably Vancouver’s most elaborate haunted house begins every summer and now the time has arrived for you to enter the Dunbar Haunted House. Get your spook on starting October 15.
Halloween in Vancouver is full of great events and the Dunbar Haunted House is a must visit.
This year marks the 9th year of the Dunbar Haunted House. In its first year the house drew approximately 100 people from the local Dunbar neighbourhood. In 2012, over 13,000 people walked through the haunted hallways of the house.
In the process of providing a frighteningly good experience they also raised $63,000 for their three charities, The B.C. Professional Fire Fighter’s Burn Fund, The Vancouver Police Union Charity Foundation and the Lower Mainland ChristmasBureau.
Over 220 volunteers helped with construction, decorating, animamtronics, lighting and sound, spooking, security, kitchen, music, clean up and everything else that goes into making this one of the baddest haunted houses in town.
This year’s haunt features snapshots of horrific moments in ancient, medieval and modern history. Specific sets include an Egyptian Necropolis, Greek Tragedy, Crusades, Spanish Inquisition, Sorcery, the Plague, Piracy, Monster’s Ball, The Asylum and The Apocalypse.
The haunted house features live actors at night from 7 p.m. to closing. Families with children are encouraged to bring them for a day visit as the night visit may prove to be too frightening.
Go check this out as it is truly one of this city’s must see Halloween attractions, you won’t be disappointed.
