July is over and it’s officially in the record books. The month of July had no rain recorded at the Vancouver International Airport. That’s something you don’t see too often in this city.
The previous record dates back 60 years to July 1953. It should be noted that a few sprinkles were recorded at the YVR weather station, however, rain is only measured if it is 0.2 mm or more. Since the sprinkles amounted to less than that, they were disregarded and thus July 2013 had absolutely no rain at all.
Of course soon after the record was broken a little bit of rain fell at YVR at 1 a.m. Thursday morning.
