An art exhibit featuring the works of Dr. Seuss, the legendary children’s book writer and illustrator, is coming to Vancouver in July. For a limited engagement between July 11 to 30, Pendulum Gallery inside the HSBC Building downtown will play host to works from the illustrator’s Secret Art Collection.

The collection, hosted by Toronto’s Liss Gallery, includes some of those iconic children’s book illustrations, alongside decades of artwork that the artist created at night for his own personal pleasure. Among the wackiest are Seuss’ three-dimensional “Unorthodox Taxidermy” sculptures, with names like The Carbonic Walrus, The Two-Horned Drouberhannis, and the Goo-Goo-Eyed Tasmanian Wolghast.
