Man remains in stable condition after Downtown Eastside shooting

One man remains in stable condition after being shot in the Downtown Eastside this morning.

Vancouver Police received a 9-1-1 call after 5:30 am reporting gunshot sounds in the area of Jackson Avenue and Powell Street.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 30-year-old Vancouver man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the shooting does not appear to be random and no arrests have been made.
