Surrey’s got something delicious to look forward to because Dominion Bar + Kitchen is on cusp of opening its doors.
The restaurant itself is named after the Dominion of Canada and confederation, so you can bet there will be some serious patriotic themes going down both in the decor and on the menu.
When it comes to eats think share plates made up of flavours from across the nation. Dishes like Bao Macs (mini cheeseburger in a Chinese-style open-side bun) and Jäger Chicken (marinated in Jägermeister and served with German spaetzle noodle dumplings) will be up for order.
Dominion will serve brunch, lunch, dinner, light bites, and late night beverages as well.
The drink program will feature local brews like Four Winds, Steel and Oak, and Parallel 49. For wine, expect BC varieties like Burrowing Owl and Joie Farm, along with a rotating vino feature on tap.
The decor here features leather upholstered banquettes and industrial-style lighting along with intricate floor tiles. Photos of Surrey’s steel fabrication shop (taken by North Delta photographer Brian Howell) line some of the walls in the space as well.
With the second largest city population in BC, there’s bound to be a lot of hungry people in the area, so it’s a good thing Dominion will be opening its doors this month.
The restaurant is aiming to open officially on March 21, the same day as the hotel, the only thing left to do is hire their team.
The Civic Hotel will also feature a Prado Cafe location, so stay tuned for that as well.
