A Squamish dog breeder could be facing animal cruelty charges after the SPCA seized 29 dogs and puppies from the breeder’s property on Tuesday.
According to a release from the SPCA, the animals included 18 adult dogs, some of which may be pregnant, and 11 puppies .
Their Old English sheepdogs, Coton de Tulear, bearded collies and a Tibetan terrier were badly matted, with ear and skin infections, overgrown nails, and severe dental disease.
They are currently in SPCA care and are receiving ongoing veterinary treatment; they are not available for adoption at this time, pending the legal process.
The SPCA says the investigation is ongoing and charges of animal cruelty may be recommended.
