Beau, a two-year-old border collie-kelpie mix, is looking for a loving home after being shot in the leg.

The pup was found by the Burnaby SPCA with three buckshot pellets in his leg.

“Beau was found limping and it was determined that he had been previously shot,” Ryan Voutilainen, BC SPCA Burnaby branch manager said in a release.

“He was kept outside in unsafe conditions without access to proper shelter or care.”

Beau now needs surgery to save his leg. The SPCA estimates that his procedure will cost up to $6,000 and they are hoping to collect donations to help Beau and animals like him get the medical care they need.

After surgery, Beau will be looking for a loving home.

“Beau is such an outgoing guy! He loves everyone, including all the other animals,” said Voutilainen. “We just want him to have that chance to spread that love even more in a forever home.”
