Fans of the Disney universe now have another location in Metro Vancouver to purchase their fan merchandise.
Although it has already been open for several weeks, the Disney Store at downtown Vancouver’s Pacific Centre shopping mall will celebrate its official grand opening this coming Saturday, September 12.
The first 500 guests to attend the opening event will receive a free gift and an opportunity to meet Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Celebrations will also include a festive song composed specifically for the Disney Store, performed by cast members.
The 4,500-square-foot Vancouver Disney store features intricate interior finishings like the Vancouver skyline, with local landmarks such as the Lions Gate Bridge and Canada Place. In addition to Disney character story moments, other themes in the store include the Marvel Universe, Star Wars Universe, a blue Pixie Dust Trail and Magical Trees.
The Disney Store is located near the new mall entrance at the northwest corner of Robson and Granville streets.
This is the latest store addition to the Pacific Centre expansion in the basement level of the Nordstrom building. Other stores in the mall expansion include Microsoft, AllSaints, Weekend MaxMara, Ted Baker London, BOSS Store, Kate Spade New York, Pandora, TUMI, B2 and Abercrombie & Fitch (opening soon).
There are two other Disney Stores in the Metro Vancouver region, located at Metropolis in Metrotown in Burnaby and Guildford Town Centre in Surrey. Downtown Vancouver previously had a Disney Store on Robson Street in a space previously occupied by Lululemon Athletica.
Disney has over 310 stores around the world, and it recently opened its largest store in Shanghai – a 54,000 square foot location that comes just ahead of next year’s opening of the $5.5-billion, 963-acre Shanghai Disney Resort.
