A Vancouver-based company is showing off their latest creation – the ultimate hangover pill.

Destroy Hungover Mornings (DHM) has created an all-natural, FDA-compliant hangover supplement, that allows users to enjoy their nights out but still remain productive the morning after.

The company is founded by Vancouver entrepreneur Nishal Kumar, a former Tesla employee and UBC graduate.

Kumar, who has a background in chemistry and biology, is surrounded by a team of scientists (with backgrounds in geophysics, genetics, and biochemistry), athletes and entrepreneurs.

Their claim-to-fame pills use Dihydromyricetin (DHM), a natural ingredient that breaks down the toxic byproduct of alcohol and has been used in Asia for centuries to fight alcohol’s negative effects.

DHM is then mixed with milk thistle, prickly pear extract, N-Acetyl, L-Cysteine (an amino acid), electrolytes, and vitamin B complex, to “drastically reduce hangover symptoms.”

The company explains that the pill will combat “headaches, nausea, brain fog, and anxiety,” allowing users to wake up feeling fresh and productive.

“The pill enhances the effectiveness of key liver enzymes,” Kumar explained, “the more effective these enzymes are, the less you feel the effects of alcohol the next morning.”

“Everyone’s body is different. For people who produce a surplus of these enzymes, they’ll reap the benefits of the pills. A person whose body produces fewer enzymes will still enjoy the effects, although not to the same extent.”

“As a general rule of thumb, one capsule can cover five drinks and there are two capsules in each individual pouch.” Kumar shared with Daily Hive that the pills had a 90% success rate after having just over 500 people try the product.

So what’s the catch?

You need to take the pills either before or during drinking; it’s also essential to consume several glasses of water before bed and have a proper sleep.

“The water and sleep are essential,” says Kumar, “those are two things that you won’t be able to get in these pills.”

The company looks to expand their distribution channels within the next 12 months, but until then, you can purchase or learn more about their product on their website or crowdfunding campaign.
