Police are in the process of investigating a suspected arson case that took place on Tsawwassen First Nations land.

The incident took place on Sunday, June 10 at approximately 6:45 pm. Delta Police and Fire crews were called to a house fire on the 4600 block of Eagle Way.

Upon arrival, the house was fully engulfed in flames and unfortunately, the residence was completely destroyed in the fire.

Luckily, the homeowner was away during the time of the fire and there were no known injuries.

Delta Police did, however, find a man at the scene and took him into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of arson, with charges being forwarded to the Crown for consideration.

Police have not disclosed the identity of the suspect, nor a verified source or method for starting the fire.
