The Deighton Cup will return to the Hastings Racecourse for its eighth year on Saturday, July 16.
While the excitement of watching the adrenaline-pumping horse races, spying gorgeous summer fashion, and sipping on summery cocktails are all part of the Deighton Cup, attendees to this annual day-long event can expect to discover a whole lot more off the track, by way of a fetchingly revamped menu and additional snack bars dotted around the grounds.
This year, East meets West in Cocktails & Canapés’ Deighton Cup menu. Culinary Director Brett Turner has taken the event’s traditional Deep South-inspired food program and incorporated both subtle and fiery Pacific Rim flavours. The result, a terrific array of complimentary (lunch included in ticket price) and à la carte creations (perfect for when one is feeling a tad tipsy, peckish, or both later on in the day).
Speaking of tipsy, the Deighton Cup is also a great event for tasting delicious cocktails, such as this year’s Whiskey Cobbler. Another exciting facet of the gathering is the 4th Annual Cocktail Jockey Mixology Competition, featuring the province’s top bartenders and their unique “Cobbler” cocktail creations.
