Police investigate death of young child in East Vancouver

Police are investigating the death of a young child at an East Vancouver home.

Officers were called to a residence in the area of Commercial Drive and Kitchener Street just after 4 pm on Wednesday, January 18, after receiving a report about the death of a child.

Detectives from the VPD’s Major Crime Section and the BC Coroner’s Service attended the scene, and have begun their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

In a media release, the police confirmed that the death “does not appear suspicious.”
