With sunny weather being forecast for Friday, Cypress Mountain has decided to open for one more day on April 21–and it could even reopen after that.

The mountain was closed for the season at the end of the day on April 17, but the team at Cypress have decided to open with special prices this Friday.

Joffrey Koeman, sales marketing director at Cypress Mountain also told Daily Hive there is a possibility that the mountain could be re-open in the upcoming weeks.

“It depends, if it looked like long stretch of sunny weather, it’s possible. But it’s hard to say at this point,” Koeman said.

The mountain will be open from 11 pm to 5 pm. The special prices for the one-off sunny day are as follows:

  • Adult: $35 ($28 for Gold Medal cardholders)
  • Youth: $28 ($22 for Gold Medal cardholders)
  • Seniors: $21 ($16 for Gold Medal cardholders)
  • Children: $16 ($12 for Gold Medal cardholders)

The team at Cypress revealed that two chairlifts, Express Quad and Easy Rider Quad will be open and there will be free burgers on offer at the Lions BBQ pit.

Koeman said the decision to open the mountain was made when the team was drafting in the ‘Thank You’ letters after the mountain witnessed an ‘amazing year’.

“It’s pretty consistently rained for nine days straight and there is one day that was approaching and that looked like sunshine which was Friday,” Koeman said.

“So, we decided we only have had one real spring day up here, so let’s open for another sunny day.”

As per the Weather Network’s 14-day weather forecast, there might be sunny weather on the weekend of April 29 and April 30. Will Cypress re-open then? We can only hope.
