Two cyclists hurt after colliding with each other in Vancouver on Monday

Two Vancouver cyclists remain in hospital this morning, after they collided with each other on Monday night.

According to Vancouver Police, a man and a woman were riding their bikes together north on Yukon Street around 9:45 pm, when the woman stopped for a traffic light at West 7th Avenue.

Unfortunately, the man was not able to stop in time and he crashed into the woman and then landed on the ground.

Police said neither rider was wearing a helmet.

A BC Ambulance Supervisor was near the intersection at the time of the collision and provided medical assistance immediately.

After being taken to hospital, the 64-year-old Vancouver woman was treated for minor injuries, and the 62-year-old Vancouver man is in critical condition.

Police added that no vehicles were involved in the incident.
