Cups and pups - pop up puppy café to open in Vancouver this Friday

Aug 4 2016, 2:44 am

Do you ever wish that your cup of coffee came with a side of cuddly canines?

That your Americano was served with a dash of Alsatian? Your café latte with a little bit of labrador? Or your spiced chai with a sprightly cocker spaniel?

Well wish no more, as this Friday a pop up café is opening in downtown Vancouver serving up two of our favourite things: caffeine and cuddly pups.

Yes you heard that right, to help out their furry friends at the BC SPCA, TAXI Café on Richards Street is set to open its doors for a special Cups & Pups event this Friday, August 5.

Located in the reception area of the marketing agency of the same name, the special event will raise money for the BC SPCA’s life-saving work by giving people a chance to get up close and personal with some of their adoptable pooches.

“Why not come on your lunch break, enjoy a cup of great coffee, and maybe even meet your newest, furry family member,” Tess Repenning, BC SPCA officer, fundraising events said in a release.

“You’ll get your caffeine fix and canine love, all while supporting a fantastic cause. Even if you’re not looking to adopt, it’s a fantastic opportunity to spend your lunch hour having fun with some lovable, four-legged furballs.”

Admission to Cups & Pups is $10, with coffee available by donation.
