This year’s speakers include:

Rob Bucci, CEO of STAT Search Analytics (and a local Vancouverite)

  • Session: What Google Serves Up for Local Searches
  • What: According to Google, searchers are beginning to drop location-specific terms like “neighbourhood” and “near me” from their queries when looking for goods and services in their area. But does Google still know what searchers want?
By comparing the search engine results pages (SERPs) of keywords like [breakfast places], [breakfast places in Vancouver], and [best breakfast places], we can better understand how Google interprets different levels of local intent and uncover what searchers see most often.
  • Attendees will learn:
    • How Google interprets different levels of local intent and what searchers are seeing most often.
    • How to refine your SEO keyword lists by comparing SERPs.
    • How to better tailor your content to build more targeted ad campaigns that achieve better results.

Krista Seiden, Google Analytics

  • Session: Measurement for Growth
  • What: You’ve probably heard the term “growth marketing” thrown around a lot. But what exactly is it? New age optimizers looking for a fancier title? Marketers spinning their same old service in a new way? A buzzword for a game of bingo? Whatever you want to call it, growth marketing is real and incredibly effective…if you know how to do it, and do it well.
  • Attendees will learn:
    • What growth marketing really is, beyond the buzzwords.
    • How effective growth marketing is rooted in analytics, experimentation, and product development.
    • How to strategically measure and use data for targeted growth.

Sean Kennedy, Zapier

  • Session: Starting Over: Rebuilding Emails for Engagement
  • What: When you do email right, you boost engagement with your content, create advocates to share your message, increase traffic where you want it, and increase your brand reputation. So how come many of us ignore email or only use it as a way to mass send messages to our users’ inboxes? Join Sean as he walks you through how they’re tearing things down and rebuilding emails in order to grow a more engaged audience.
  • Attendees will learn:
    • Why the size of your email list doesn’t really matter.
    • How you can repair your deliverability and reputation in order to increase opens.
    • How to measure email performance so you know which emails are hitting the mark and which need a reboot.

Hana Abaza, Shopify Plus

  • Session: Product Marketing Inside and Out
  • What: Product marketing is the glue that holds it all together. But what exactly is product marketing? And how does it work with the rest of the company? Like most things, the answer depends on a variety of factors. But there are some key areas you need to get good at, fast, in order to use product marketing as a lever for growth.
  • Attendees will learn:
    • The guidelines for how and when to invest in product marketing.
    • How to develop a go-to-market framework for your company.
    • How to set up product marketing as a cross-functional powerhouse.
