The Maple Leaf Monster Jam Tour together with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society (GVFBS) is challenging Vancouver to help “crush hunger” by filling up a car with non-perishable food items on Tuesday, November 27th at BC Place.
Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to meet Canada-based Monster Jam driver Barry Parkin, take photos with his 10,000lb monster truck Western Renegade, and help those in need.
In appreciation of the kind-hearted gesture, every person who donates five (5) non-perishable food items or makes a $20 donation will receive one complimentary ticket voucher to the Maple Leaf Monster Jam Vancouver show on January 26th, 2013. **Tickets are limited to the first 500 participants providing donations on a first-come, first-served basis; maximum of one voucher per person.
Recommended food items for donation include: high protein items such as canned fish or poultry, meals in a can (hearty soups, stews and chili), natural peanut butter, whole wheat pasta, pasta sauce, rice, beans, high fiber and non-sugar coated cereals.
The GVFBS will be on site accepting donations of non-perishable food items as well as monetary contributions. For every $1 donated, the GVFBS is able to purchase as much as $3 worth of food, maximizing the impact for those who wish to make a cash or credit card donation.
