Both Surrey and RCMP are investigating after shots were fired from one vehicle to another while both were travelling on Highway 1 on Wednesday night.

The incident happened at approximately 10:27 pm, when police received reports that shots had been fired from a black Acura into a white Jeep between 200th Street and 192nd Street.

“The driver of the Jeep was able to drive to the area of 96th Avenue and 176th Street and await assistance before being taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries,” said Langley RCMP Cpl. Holly Largy.

“Officers have located and seized a possible suspect vehicle and are continuing with a number of investigative steps,” said Largy.

While the investigation is still in its early stages, police confirmed the incident was targeted and “related to the ongoing Lower Mainland drug conflicts.”

Anyone with more information is asked to contact Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200, or leave a tip anonymously with Crime Stoppers at solvecrime.ca.
