Police identify victim in Vancouver's ninth homicide of 2017

Police have identified the victim of Vancouver’s ninth homicide of the year on Tuesday.

Just after 8 am officers responded to the report of a stabbing on East Hastings near Main Street where they found a man in medical distress.

He was rushed to hospital and died a short time later.

The victim has now been identified as 51-year-old Vancouver resident, Mark Eriksen.

“Investigators are working to determine what led up to the stabbing and to identify the person responsible,” said the VPD in a release on Thursday.
